Amy Nuttall releases her debut album, Best Days, on November 14th, 2005 on the EMI Classics label.
Best Days will feature classical tracks, orchestrated folk songs and a number of brand new compositions.
The album highlights Amy’s extraordinary vocal talent, showcasing her training as a soprano. Stand out tracks include the haunting ‘Scarborough Fair’, the exquisite vocal range of ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ and the powerfully operatic ‘Io Le Canto Per Te’. Other tracks include Amy’s own unique take on classic songs ‘Fields of Gold’ and ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’.
Recorded over the summer, Amy worked with producers Simon Franglen (Madonna; Quincy Jones; Celine Dion), Jon Cohen (who has worked with Vanessa-Mae and the OperaBabes and co-wrote ‘No Greater Gift’ and ‘Friends For Life’ on the album), Tolga Kashif (who has worked with Lesley Garrett and co-wrote ‘So Far Away’ on the album) and leading orchestra producer, Jonathan Allen.
Amy has also just signed up to play Eliza Doolittle in Cameron Mackintosh’s UK tour of ‘My Fair Lady’, which opens in Manchester in October and plays at venues throughout the country up until summer 2006.
Amy, who to date is best known for her role of Chloe Atkinson in Emmerdale, originally trained as a singer at the Arts Educational School. Having trained as a soprano, Amy is the youngest actress ever to play the lead role in an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical in the West End and has already performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall for Children In Need and at the Season Opening of Old Trafford Manchester United Football Club.
Says Amy, “Singing has always been my first love and I cannot tell you how excited I am about the release of Best Days. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with some of the best producers in the business and I just hope people enjoy listening to the album as much as I enjoyed recording it.”
