Olly and Gale Turin Brakes are in Fine form at Glastonbury

What’s the best thing that’s happened so far?

Turin Brakes – The best thing was seeing a T-shirt stall called small penis. That’s been the best thing so far. Other then that we just done interviews, we haven’t seen any bands yet. We saw the end of REM last night, two songs.

What was they like?

Turin Brakes – They were really rubbish.

Seriously really rubbish

Turin Brakes – They were like a bunch of school boys who just been given guitars and didn’t know, I’m joking, a bunch of perverts. They were good actually it was a joke.

Have you been to Glastonbury before?

Olly– I never been, he has though.

Gale – Yeah I came about ten years ago, when I was sixteen. There was more people here then, I was more happier, less cynical.

Misery is good for song writing though!

Turin Brakes – Misery is perfect for song writing, especially our songs, we are such miserable people.

Ok, what are your plans for the rest of the day?

Turin Brakes – Play a gig, eat some food, watch some bands.

They must be some bands that you want to come and see

Olly – I heard Radiohead are alright, probably check them out, Supergrass as well.

Gayle– I was trying to see Billy Corgan's band 'Zwan', we thought it was today, but it was yesterday and missed it.

What does Glastonbury mean to you?

Turin Brakes – It means a huge amount of people walking on corridors trying to get to see some music. A very cynical take. Glastonbury mean life. (Much laughter!!!)

Protection - we do a lot of it these days. Sun cream for our skin, sunglasses for our eyes, condoms for you know where - but do you remember to protect your hearing?

Click to find all the information you need to look after your hearing now so you can enjoy music for years to come

The Raft has discovered The CarbonNeutral Company

They help business, government and individuals to tackle their contribution to climate change. In addition to forestry projects, their work includes carbon emissions reduction, renewable energy and biomass schemes, as well as carbon management and risk consulting

And that can't be a bad thing...
