1. WHO ARE THE FULL PATCH MEMBERS OF BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB AND WHY DID IT BECOME NECESSARY FOR YOU TO FORM A ROCK 'N' ROLL BAND?
There are only three of us, Peter Hayes plays guitar, Nick's on the drums and i play bass guitar. We like to keep it just the three. I don't know why we formed a band, it was only necessary to make music.
2. DO MOTORCYCLES LOOM AS LARGE IN YOUR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AS YOUR NAME WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE?
No, and we're not black either.
3. HAS A SAN FRANCISCAN BACKGROUND IRREVOCABLY SHAPED THE SOUND AND ATTITUDE OF BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB?
Can't imagine it hasn't, we are all very similar people and that comes a lot from you're surroundings. The time spent there was important musically and now were in Los Angeles so it adds something else.
4. ARE YOU ANY CLOSER TO DISCOVERING EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS THAT HAPPENED TO YOUR ROCK 'N' ROLL?
Yeah, like to think it's getting better, but it's gonna take some time. I know there's a lot of good bands out there so not all is lost.
5. THE GREAT STATE OF CALIFORNIA IS CURRENTLY INFAMOUS FOR EXPORTING ENDLESS, PRODUCTION LINE PUNK-ROCK-BY-NUMBERS. CAN BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB SAVE US FROM THIS ANODYNE AND COMPLACENT, IDENTIPUNK STASIS?
We know what we're not more than what we are. There can't really be a Punk movement again and Rock'N'Roll fades in and out seems. But actually If we can forget that shit, and make the music that's honest then none of that matters.
6. IS SELF-PRODUCTION ESSENTIAL TO THE FIERCELY INDEPENDENT B.R.M.C. ETHIC OR SIMPLY A LOT CHEAPER?
It's cheaper but never any simpler. We're only independent because we're bull headed and that's not something we're very proud of. All of us hope we can listen more to other people because we have a lot of passionate and creative people around us, it's just a matter of trusting things more.
7. WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO HEAR ON YOUR FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUM THAT WE CAN'T HEAR ANYWHERE ELSE?
