Touring
Are you going to go on tour at any point this year?
I will be doing some touring, probably start at the end of the year, probably start in America and then doing some European dates in 2003.
Big Year
So one way or another its going to be a big year?
Yeah, Im looking forward to it. Im looking forward to the promotion side of it, but once I get the other end of the promotion cycle and Im playing I think Ill be happy.
Looking Ahead
Are you looking forward to that?
I am, yeah. My partner and I have a new baby now so thats central focus in my life, but I think they are going to come out on the road with me for a bit so that will make that process a lot easier than it would be if I was leaving home.
Why 10 Years
It's been almost ten years since your last album. Why the wait?
Well Im slow! I spent some time touring and then I think also Ive come to the realisation that I like making music better than selling it. The process of playing music and touring I really do quite enjoy and you get a sort of relationship with both the music and an audience that you dont get any other way. But actually sitting in a studio and writing stuff is my favourite thing to do, so at a certain point you know time catches up and you think okay I better actually finish this stuff because Im not always very good at finishing it.
