Deep Dish Win Over One More Indie Fan!
Deep Dish George Is On
Having never listened to this duo before I wasn't sure what to expect. However, even though I am not usually a fan of dance music, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The Grammy-award winners have a lot to do after the success of 'Flashdance', a worldwide hit which rose as high as No.3 in the UK singles chart, and a top-selling dance track on Apple's iTunes in the U.S.
Deep Dish's long-awaited second album, 'George Is On', is released in July and follows on from where they left off. The whole album has the original sound that Ali 'Dubfire' Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi have become known for, and will undoubtedly be heard in clubs worldwide. My favourite track is 'Say Hello', which features the distinctive voice of Anousheh Khalili and will become the soundtrack of many people's summer. It is a track which will have a universal appeal with pop fans as well as hardcore dance music lovers.
The most interesting track of the album is their interpretation of 'Dreams', which has been rerecorded by Stevie Nicks, and will be able to hold its own among their remixes for such artists as Madonna, Dido, and Justin Timberlake.
Having listened to the album I have been converted to at least one band's dance music, and 'George Is On' would be a welcome addition to any music fan's CD collection.
