Pink Floyd and Dire Straits also started out that way: playing a lot in Holland, then world fame will follow for itself. The English band Simian tour in Holland and this way everybody can get acquainted with one of the finer British pop bands of the moment. (...)

The community singing of the Beach Boys, the elektropop of Kraftwerk and the sixties-psychedelic of Love worked as an example and in their hometown Manchester they watched Happy Mondays and Stone Roses and learned how to combine rockmusic with dancebeats. The Beach Boys influence was well aware in the song Sunshine, that without the dancebeats, easily could have been written by Brian Wilson himself.With all these impressive references to the past it would almost be scary nevertheless the fact that Simian as a young band definitely has an image of their own. Most fun part about Simian is that where the music on the album sounded like a perfect studio project, once on stage you find that they play the songs very vivid and loose.
